What is sex?

What is sex?
An unknown pleasure
Or, known ecstasy
Love or lust
Life or death
Sex or mixture of lusty nights
And dirty talks deeds
A sin
Or, lifelong lasting experiences

What is sex?
Long-term relationships
Commitment, sacrifice, doubts
Fear, lie, or intermingling of
Two body and two souls
Mingling of two thoughts
Into one single thoughts
For the common goal

How to Impress Your Professor?

Your professor is your guide, mentor and friend. He is your only guru who will give you and your work, a nice ride. He will take care of your research and evaluate your work every time. Alright, let me stop writing nice words about professors. They are busiest people in the world.
Some even claim to be too busy when they are not. Therefore, you should understand that they do not have enough time for your research. However, they will be extremely happy when you will show them results. They really love results.
By the way, do not forget to give them credit in each and every work you perform. Even if they have no time and energy to provide you any 'input' for your work, you just have to 'add their names in publication and other results'. So, keep this in mind that you must credit them for no reason. Not all the professor(s) are 'spin head', some of them are extremely good and they provide good evaluation of your work.
Alright! My essay on 'how to impress'; let us say, there are few points you should take into account.
1. Always show more than you really do: This simply means to present yourself as an active student even if you remain passive at your workplace.
2. Always 'butter' them: By 'buttering', you can get close to your professors. Try to hang-out with them, play games and visit public places; become more personal towards them. The more personal friend you become; there is better chance that you will get positive treatment at your work place.
3. Lie more: Yes, the more you lie to your professor the better impact you will have on them. If they will give you some work and you are not ready yet to complete it; just lie and say that you are sick or something.
4. Print more material: Print lot of references and put it in your work table. When professor visits at your workplace( at rare occasion they will eventually) show to them that you are working extremely hard to solve your research problem.
5. Make Library: This is similar to point 4. Get books from library and arrange at your shelve. This will show that you are busy reading lot of books.
Now, you are ready to impress your professor! Good luck!

Q&A

Question:

Question

They say men are from Mars and women from Venus, but the fact is they both have to co-exist on Earth. Where do you think men and women fail in understanding the other gender? How do you think can they meet mid-point in a relationship?

Replies

The central idea of Men are from Mars and Women are from Venus is absurd. Philosophically, it is true that these dual beings are different and there is no point in magnifying the differences. The so called, "elites" and "wise" people whom we address as, "they" are most of the times either marketing their product or idea in the mass market. In the core level of relationship: mutual agreement, compromise and balancing act matters most. There is no difference in one single variable. The difference exits when there is two. The failure of understanding comes not from one side but from both the sides. Men think Women are mysterious whereas women think men are mysterious. In general, nobody ever has understood women simply because women are not a creature which can be understood but an instrument of love. These two meet only for the common interest. When they have some common goal to be achieved they meet. The common goal could be: dreams, career, life long togetherness and so on. However, whatever has been or written about women in literature, art and movies will be said afterwards. The world is changing and so is the relationship climate in different places and countries. Some wise man once said, "To love is easy, to be in relationship is extremely difficult." Maybe the wise man is right.
Thank you !

Why Finland?

First and foremost, I am grateful to the owner and CEO of this website who have given me an opportunity to jot downs few pointers for those who have decided to pursue academic career in the country of ‘fifty thousand lakes’. Well, welcome!

My article is entitled, “Why Finland?” Despite so many countries and  highly acclaimed professional institution in the world, you have decided to visit Finland (Tervetuloa—welcome in Finnish).

There are always two sides of the coin. Let me discuss some positive side of visiting Finland. In my opinion, you have made very good choice simply because there is no hurdle for paying tution fee.  While studying many students find extremely difficult to maintain work and life balance and when you get free education then you do not feel too much burden in your shoulder.

If you are a person who likes the Nature, then you are far more then welcome. You will defintely love this place. An extreme showcase of the Nature is displayed only in the Finland. I can rest assure you that if you haven’t found the God yet, you will discover only in Finland.

The ‘beautiful lakes’ and the ‘silence’ are two great combinations. Early morning, when the sun rises from the East and the light of the sun falls in the Finnish lakes, it feels as if you are living in the heaven while you are on the earth.

Okay, I may sound too poetic now. Let me tell you some bitter facts. As a International student, don’t expect too much. It is not an easy task to visit foreign country and study. However, it is good practice and every one highly recommends it nowadays. One must share the diverse cultural background and the experience which are vital for human existence. One simple fact is about jobs. It is not easy as it is not easy in ecomonically downtrodden soceity. Today, each and every country is facing this problem and Finland is no different. Many Finns are having difficulties to get back to work so don’t expect too quickly to get a highly qualified jobs. If you are lucky then you may discover some ‘orthodox jobs’ such as cleaning and paper delivery among others.

Let me come back to the topic, so you have chosen to visit this beautiful and peaceful land. Let us do some fact check, very recently the Newsweek magazine rated Finland as the number one country in the world.  Among 100 countries around the globe, the magazine analyzed and declared that Finland is the best. Many factors were taken into account for such analysis such as quality of life, quantity of life, ‘economic dynamism’, ‘political environment’, ‘education’ and ‘healthcare’. But don’t be baffled by what newspaper and magazine has to say. These days they print whatever they want. This doesn’t mean that I am suspecting their ranking, this simply means that you should better come and experience for yourself. There are lots of problems created by humans for the humans and the solutions are dew yet.

The problems of discrimination, racial problems and ‘internal or external conflict’ are everywhere. The least you may experience in some places and more; in another. If you are popping up from Asian Sub continent(Nepal, India, Bangaladesh, Srilanka etc) then please do your homework for great ‘cultural shock’. If you happen to visit from Europe then probably, you may experience some extremes but with minor changes in the climate among other things. If you are visiting from America and similar places, then you may discover lot of similarities with your own country.

Finland is riding high not only world’s number one country but also on ‘the planet's best food security’ country. The food is good. In Finland, don’t forget to experience Finnish food mostly potatoes (Peruna in Finnish).

Alright, Let’s come back again to topic, “why Finland?” There are lot of good things you may do and you should do while you are in Finland and there are lot of bad things you got to know before coming to Finland. Therefore, I recommend you should use ‘Google brother’; it knows lot of things which we don’t know, in our era of the ‘digital change’.

Learn about your instituion; your professor; your visiting city and develop habit of reading.  Once you have done quality background check then surely you will encounter lesser suprises. Otherwise, it would be extremely difficult to visit any places or country. And do not forget to share your expriences with friends and family. With social media on rise, I don’t have to tell this anymore.

The Bill gates vision for ‘information at fingertips’ has come alive. Each one of has information at our fingertips but quality information can only be found at rare places. Hence,  the most important lessons for student like you and me; BE TRUTHFUL.

In summary, its your choice and nobody has rights to judge on your personal choice. Not even the God/gods! If you have chosen to visit/study/live in the Finland then there are lot of empty places here to be filled. Let me share with you what one professor used to say while, I was in my school. “You will never know what you are doing until and unless you have done it.” Therefore, write your own story from Finland.

Meditations by Marcus Aurelius

Words that everyone once used are now obsolete, and so are the men whose names were once on everyone's lips: Camillus, Caeso, Volesus, Dentatus, and to a lesser degree Scipio and Cato, and yes, even Augustus, Hadrian, and Antoninus are less spoken of now than they were in their own days. For all things fade away, become the stuff of legend, and are soon buried in oblivion. Mind you, this is true only for those who blazed once like bright stars in the firmament, but for the rest, as soon as a few clods of earth cover their corpses, they are 'out of sight, out of mind.' In the end, what would you gain from everlasting remembrance? Absolutely nothing. So what is left worth living for? This alone: justice in thought, goodness in action, speech that cannot deceive, and a disposition glad of whatever comes, welcoming it as necessary, as familiar, as flowing from the same source and fountain as yourself. (IV. 33, trans. Scot and David Hicks)

When you wake up in the morning, tell yourself: The people I deal with today will be meddling, ungrateful, arrogant, dishonest, jealous, and surly. They are like this because they can't tell good from evil. But I have seen the beauty of good, and the ugliness of evil, and have recognized that the wrongdoer has a nature related to my own—not of the same blood or birth, but the same mind, and possessing a share of the divine. (II. 1, trans. Gregory Hays)

They say

They say that I was born today
and I don’t know what that means.
They say that I have to go school
and I don’t know what would I do.
They say that I have to earn money
and I don’t know what should I do.
They say many things
and I don’t know anythings.

Maybe life is puzzle unsolved.
Maybe life is a rollercoaster ride
between love and hatred.
Maybe life is dream within a dream.
But I still don’t know
Where will it all lead
Anyways, I just have to live each
and every day and do what they
say.

Maybe I just have to think
What they think was always right
and do not interefere their insights.
As we all know they are the ones
Who create rules and we are
Ordinary people living on them.
Whatever they do affects entire
Humanity but they don’t know
how to play safe.

They say many things
and I don’t know if they misleading
us in some way.
Let this saddest song be sung
Near their corridor
So that they will find solutions
of all our problems, someday !

Politics and the English Language by Orwell

In "Politics and the English Language", Orwell provides six rules for writers:

* Never use a metaphor, simile, or other figure of speech which you are used to seeing in print.
* Never use a long word where a short one will do.
* If it is possible to cut a word out, always cut it out.
* Never use the passive where you can use the active.
* Never use a foreign phrase, a scientific word, or a jargon word if you can think of an everyday English equivalent.
* Break any of these rules sooner than say anything outright barbarous.

—George Orwell, Politics and the English Language, Horizon, April 1946 [67]

Should We Manipulate Our Dreams?

A comment on Should We Manipulate Our Dreams?

"Normal dreams are normally unpleasant."

Dear Sir,

I am so lazy to read after the first lines of what you have written here. Let me tell you why. First of all I can write 1000 pages of text on why "normal dreams are NOT normally unpleasant" and many of my contemporaries will do the same.

I am really sorry but I hope that I am not being offensive about your insights. I am also sorry for my poor delivery of English in this 'small comment box' I don't get paid for putting my ideas by NYTimes and I don't do re-writing. So, let me get back to the first statement on why normal dreams are NOT unpleasant.

Let us assume that Mr. A is a normal guy and he lives in normal world and he has normal life. The usage of word: 'normal' is simply pointing to an ordinary life. When Mr. A is normal guy then it is not necessary that he also lives normal life. Well, to some extent he is bounded to live and sustain normal life but it not a predicament that he must live a normal life.

Therefore, When Mr. A is not living normal life then
Mr. A can live either abnormal life or Mr. A can live an extraordinary life.

The point is: Not all normal dreams are unpleasant.

To clarify please think about this:

Mr. A lives normal life then he must either dream normally or abnormally. If he dreams normally then he has greater chance of being rather pleasant than unpleasant. I think this is simple mathematics. If he dreams abnormally then he has greater chance of being rather unpleasant than pleasant.

Whatever be the case, I do not agree that all normal dreams are normally unpleasant.

The reasons are:

1. Normal dreams are manifestation of everyday reality.
2. What we dream is either for our future or is about things happening in the present.
3. Our consciousness and unconsciousness theory are outdated which needs to be re-written.

Anyways, I clearly understand the point you guys are trying to make for 'manipulation of dreams' and I think this is very much possible. I know how...

Thank you for bearing these texts with me.

Defining Prosperity Down

A comment on Defining Prosperity Down

Dear Sir Paul,

Thank you very much for your information but this is not of any help.

I am sorry but please bear with me for few seconds. Personally, I agree much of what you have to say here. Yes, joblessness is growing. There are people who are 'thinking' on how to fetch a job. On the other hand, there are those who have low wage jobs.

True that politicians (either democrat or republican) put blind ears to much of job creation. It is also true that they are not only to blame.

The blame goes to rich and elite industry owners who were once responsible to create jobs and who once gave people jobs.

The underemployment rate is growing and it will grow in near future. We are responsible for developing 'who cares' society. Now, we have to face the consequences.

I think the 'economic distress' will be norm in the future society. It is better to pack bags and run towards developing world. All the jobs given are in the developing world. When Mr. A can do same work as Mr. B in low wages why to employ Mr. B? I think, the same idea is followed by most of this big fat industries nowadays.

I hope you will get this point. The point is very simple. The bottom line is jobs will decline if not taken righteous action.

Thank you
and
May God bless us !

Society needs to change

This is with reference to the article by Arun Gupto “Contraries & contradictions” (july 21). I first of all would like to thank the writer for jotting down such a good piece and bringing into light the disorder and senseless things happening in Nepal.

As pointed out by the writer, it is true that politicians say something and do something else but they are not only to be blamed. I would rather blame the society that we have developed. Until and unless we change our social values and practices, politicians alone won’t do and can’t do much for the country because they are also the product of the same society. In this light, people living in the society should be taught to be responsible for their own actions and  to be accountable to others while representing them.
Furthermore, Nepal needs visionary leaders. Only such leaders can do something for the developement of the country. The practice of anybody joining politics should be discoraged. Personally, I don’t think putting blame on politicians alone will have any effect in bringing change in the country.

Travelling

Life is a journey
and travelling is fun

you meet people and those
people are no different than you

there are amazing sights
and insights,

there are beauties which
cannot be described

you should open your heart
and feel the deepness
of undiscovered lands

you meet people
for a while
and then finally
you have to depart

as city is a lady
and she will seduce
you to stay with you

but you have to leave her alone
and move on

because yet another city is waiting
to welcome you my lord.

A Conversation

The conversation begins with the human psychiatrist saying,

doctor, i have terrible news
YOU SAY YOU HAVE TERRIBLE NEWS
yes, there is a computer program at m.i.t. that'll ruin us
WHY DO YOU SAY THAT
i have seen it working
YOU SAY YOU HAVE SEEN IT WORKING
it's frightening-you must see it
YOU THINK I MUST SEE IT
you sound depressed to me
IN YOUR FANTASY PERHAPS WE SOUND DEPRESSED TO
EACH OTHER
yes-perhaps
I UNDERSTAND
i do too
YOU SAY YOU DO TOO
we are both in the same boat with respect to that computer
LET'S CONTINUE TO TALK ABOUT YOU-SHALL WE
you are a comfort
WHAT MAKES YOU THINK I AM A COMFORT
at a time like this you want to talk about me
WHY DO YOU THINK I WANT TO TALK ABOUT YOU
because you share my feelings about that damned computer
WHAT DOES THAT SUGGEST TO YOU
that, of course, you hate computers too
YOU THINK I HATE COMPUTERS TOO
why not, they're hardly human, are they
PERHAPS THAT'S WHAT WE ARE HERE TO FIND OUT
no computer could converse as you can, for example
OH
i can't understand how anyone could be fooled by a mere
machine
CAN'T YOU REALLY
no. after all, there is nothing creative about a computer
program
YOU ARE BEING NEGATIVE
i am convinced i am correct
ARE YOU WORRIED TO HAVE BEEN CONVINCED YOU ARE
CORRECT
no, not in the least, not at all. not even a little.
YOU ARE BEING NEGATIVE
you said you agreed with me, didn't you
IS THAT WHAT YOU HEARD ME SAY
why don't you try to dissuade me-computers diddle with
numbers, that's all
YOU WISH ME TO TRY TO DISSUADE YOU
you can't
YOU THINK i CAN'T
for example, could a computer in a conversation like this raise
a new topic
YOU SEEM TO HAVE AVOIDED SPEAKING OF YOUR
PARENTS ALTOGETHER
precisely as you just did
YOU THINK I JUST DID
yes, and that's what shows the difference between a man and a
computer
I SEE

LOVERS AND MADMEN

Few thoughts of the day

1. Sometimes, even THE GOD can go mad.

2. I can provide you more wisdom than your HOLY scriptures but you haven't understood it yet.All your theism and non-theism talks are useless.

3. I like to play with an English alphabets. It is similar to, a women's ornament. Man will never know how to use it and women will waste it.

4. We haven't understood the psychology of human mind. If we can then we will but we never will.

5. Enjoy every bit of your life to the fullest. Your compromises and sacrifices will be rewarded.

6. I maybe born through a biological process but I choose to come into being and I will go without informing.

7. The ultimate goal of science and religion is to discover potentials of truth.

8. The fools among us are presented to be wise and the wise among us are presented to be fools.

9. The theory of everything is the theory of nothing.

10. If we are interrelated with one another via thoughts and ideas then we are in virtual relationship with outer cosmos.

11. Everywhere I go and everyone I see have problems. All form of species have problem tag attached to them.

12. Being bored does not mean one cannot do anything. Being bored simply means: Need for change.

13. Everybody is searching for something which is not here.

On Religion

Those who love God/god will always love
Those who do not believe in God will never believe
Why are we inducing our insights on common people?
If you are intellectually fulfilled then it does not necessarily
Means that you should make fool of your intelligence.
Religion will never be dead and be dead.
What is not dead is spiritualism. We are bunch of spirits
Or soul and we are here for short periods of time.
This is our standard existence. If we follow moral, ethical, social
and humanistic principals. We will be blessed among ourselves.
There is no need to worry and doubt other’s intelligence, we
Are here and we will be here in one form or another.
The philosophy of life is not life of philosophy rather journey
towards sustainable peace and prosperity. Remember, the more
Differences you will create, the more difference you will have
to solve. We are the problems and we have the solutions.

The summer joy

Shall I compare thee to a summer's day?
Thou art more lovely and more temperate:
                                               -William Shakespeare,
                                                  The Sonnets, XVIII(18)

When Shakespeare wrote these lines in his collection of The Sonnets, he must have touched the hearts of his readers. As I am Shakespearean myself, I love the melodies of words and the passion. Looking deeper to dig the treasure behind these two lines, here Shakespeare compare his art as lovely and profound as the days in the summer.
Unlike Shakespeare's justification for his love and the summer, I would assume it has also negative impacts on the lives of human beings all around the world. The summer heat and the sweating body are very normal. With an immense increase in body temperature, it can cause serious illness. As the mercury is increasing in all the corners of globe there is no doubt skin burn, headache, diarrhea and sickness might increase if not taken proper diets or needful care.
Most of the times, I am traveling from one country to another and while journeying, I feel the summer heat getting up into my throat.
Especially in Northern Europe, the winter lasts long and the summer season is not very long. You know what? People in these parts of the world take 'Vitamin D' tablets as they lack the heat from the Sun or especially during winter times. So, it is apparent that people living there do not get required amount of heat for the body. On the one hand the winter is cold, windy and frustrating, on the other hand, summer heat brings pleasure, delight and fun. The summer heat that the sun brings is pleasant. In the East, as most of us fall in the middle of the equator on the earth, we are fortunate enough to experience the summer heat for long.
Summer provides one of the best occasions to mingle, laugh, play and smile around.
Undoubtedly, in every country the summer is the warmest season and days are longer and nights are shorter. On the one hand we have to take precaution not to let sun harm us. On the other hand, we have to enjoy the smiling sun somehow.

To blog or not to blog?

Paul-the octopus

Paul-the octopus is covered in all the major newspaper media. Everybody knows by now that the famous Octopus has predicted that Spain will the world cup. I don’t understand why there is so much of hype going on in the media.

Yes, it is true that the prediction game played by Octopus is worthy of notice and whenever prediction has become true, people have started to belive in the octopus. Newspaper industry run on the basis of what people want to read and current happenings all over the world. Therefore, I don’t want to blame neither newspaper industry nor general people.

In my opinion, nothing can be trusted fully. We are overdosed by information around us. If you can’t find any single bit of information, you know where to look for. Majority of us will use--  ‘Google dai’ to search for the information but Google has its own problems. Similar case applies to other online and print media.  Sometimes, I feel that it is a media which runs the society, not the other way around.

The write-ups about Paul-the octopus shows that people just want to believe on something. On one hand, whoever wins the worldcup match, a history will be written. On the other hand, if the prediction happens to be true, then large number of people will believe in Mr. Paul-the octopus.

Nobody is perfect and in my opinion neither animal nor human beings are perfect. For example, with every pencil comes, a eraser. If to err is a human and just-in-case, our famous anchestor octopus fails then what should it be called, “to err is an animal" ....?

Ernest Hemingway Speech

«Having no facility for speech-making and no command of oratory nor any domination of rhetoric, I wish to thank the administrators of the generosity of Alfred Nobel for this Prize.

No writer who knows the great writers who did not receive the Prize can accept it other than with humility. There is no need to list these writers. Everyone here may make his own list according to his knowledge and his conscience.

It would be impossible for me to ask the Ambassador of my country to read a speech in which a writer said all of the things which are in his heart. Things may not be immediately discernible in what a man writes, and in this sometimes he is fortunate; but eventually they are quite clear and by these and the degree of alchemy that he possesses he will endure or be forgotten.

Writing, at its best, is a lonely life. Organizations for writers palliate the writer's loneliness but I doubt if they improve his writing. He grows in public stature as he sheds his loneliness and often his work deteriorates. For he does his work alone and if he is a good enough writer he must face eternity, or the lack of it, each day.

For a true writer each book should be a new beginning where he tries again for something that is beyond attainment. He should always try for something that has never been done or that others have tried and failed. Then sometimes, with great luck, he will succeed.

How simple the writing of literature would be if it were only necessary to write in another way what has been well written. It is because we have had such great writers in the past that a writer is driven far out past where he can go, out to where no one can help him.

I have spoken too long for a writer. A writer should write what he has to say and not speak it. Again I thank you.»

O himalaya, o himalaya

O himalaya, o himalaya

Come upon me,

upon my behest

show me:

love, joy,

fairies, butterfly

fairness, friendship,

art, wisdom

fiction and poetry

O himalaya, o himalaya

but show me not:

hatred, pain, sorrow, anger

frustration, sadness and despair

thou lives no long

share my betterside

for once and for all

O himalaya, o himalaya!

Octave Mirbeau

"You're obliged to pretend respect for people and institutions you think absurd. You live attached in a cowardly fashion to moral and social conventions you despise, condemn, and know lack all foundation. It is that permanent contradiction between your ideas and desires and all the dead formalities and vain pretenses of your civilization which makes you sad, troubled and unbalanced. In that intolerable conflict you lose all joy of life and all feeling of personality, because at every moment they suppress and restrain and check the free play of your powers. That's the poisoned and mortal wound of the civilized world."

So much love

So much love
gives male elephant
to female elephant
or, one love bird to another
loverly bird.

So much love,
So much rememberance,

One love bird
to another love bird.

So much rememberance
gives a male sparrow to another
lady sparrow.

So much love,
So much rememberance,
So much painful love & rememberance

So,
            When an male elepanat goes
far away from female elephant. He finds
another similar companion.

So,
            When female sparrow goes
far away from male sparow, she finds
another similar companion.

So much love,
and so much rememberance.

Lappeenranta, Finland, July 07, 2010 --(PR.com)-- Lulu Press, Inc. is proud to present "Obscurity" by Santosh Kalwar from Lappeenranta, Finland.

In his new book, entitled, "Obscurity," a young Nepalese poet from Chitwan, Nepal has published collection of obscure poems.

Obscurity is a collection of thirty two meaningless poems. In some poems, author maintains an obscure tone. The simplicity of individual word may not be clearly understood. In some poems, author lacks clear formulation of idea due to inadequate conception. The first poem tells about departure of soul mate whereas the second poem is about spoken words of soulless mate. Poem 3 is about words and poem 4 about loneliness. Similarly, poems 5 and 6 speak about carelessness and obsceneness, while 7 and 8 describe about love and death. In short, all these poems may look as if they are the most mysterious poems ever written.

Santosh Kalwar is an author of twelve published books entitled, "Nature God (2008), Human behavior on the Internet (2009), A Very First Book of Poems (2009), ...109 Quotes, 07 Poems, and a song of despair (2009)..., 20 Love Poems and Economy Crisis (2009), 25 Sexy Poems (2009), Yet another book of Poems (2009), Happening: Poems (2010), I Am Dead Man Alive (2010), You Can (2010), An Aphrodisiac (2010) and The Warrior (2010).

a poet

A poet makes himself a visionary through a long, boundless, and systematized disorganization of all the senses. All forms of love, of suffering, of madness; he searches himself, he exhausts within himself all poisons, and preserves their quintessences. Unspeakable torment, where he will need the greatest faith, a superhuman strength, where he becomes all men: the great invalid, the great criminal, the great accursed—and the Supreme Scientist! For he attains the unknown! Because he has cultivated his soul, already rich, more than anyone! He attains the unknown, and, if demented, he finally loses the understanding of his visions, he will at least have seen them! So what if he is destroyed in his ecstatic flight through things unheard of, unnameable: other horrible workers will come; they will begin at the horizons where the first one has fallen!
